Welcome Back to Fun and Games of the Aviva Premiership

Aviva Premiership Round 10
After two weeks of European rugby it's life back in the Aviva Premiership for round 10 and there was drama in the Midlands derby while Saracens humiliated London Welsh by scoring 11 tries and Wasps started their new era in Coventry and much more.

Sale Sharks 18 - 11 Exeter Chiefs
Exeter seem to not like traveling up north after losing to Newcastle in round five and now Sale as Danny Cipirani shone of the Sharks in front of England head coach Stuart Lancaster.

Despite going down to 13 men the hosts only lead 6 – 3 at the break, but things changed in the second half as Cipirani set up the first try of the game as his injection of pace set up Mark Cueto to score.

Then the fly half set up his own try as he had Cueto and Will Addison in support then quick hands from the latter passing back to Cipirani to score.

The Chiefs were able to score a try of their own with Thomas Waldrom crashing over from a rolling maul.

With the extra man advantage the Tigers scored the first try of the game through a penalty try but the hosts kept in touch with Stephen Myler scoring two penalties to make the score 6 – 7 at half time.

Saints finally got their first try of the game in the second half as the ball went wide for Alex Waller to score giving them the lead.

The Tigers then regained the lead as Vereniki Goneva crashed over, however it didn’t last long with Ben Foden showing some great pace to score to give Northampton the lead again.

The visitors fought back with Miles Benjamin stepping on the gas and when the ball went wide to Goneva the winger had a simple score making it three tries in 10 minutes. However, with three minutes to go Jamie Elliott finished off a brilliant team move to score to send Franklin’s Gardens rocking.

The first half was dominated by the boot with Greg Laidlaw and George Ford with the latter winning the battle as the sides were 9 – 18 at the interval.

The first try came in the second half when the referee awarded the visitors a penalty try and then they extended their lead further as Matt Garvey scored his first try of the game after a brilliant break from Ollie Devoto was finished off by the replacement flanker.
